The youth of this country, especially those of us who bothered to get educated, to develop some moral character, to learn to solve problems, are going to be your downfall. Some of us are mad as hell and eventually we are going to find a way to take you down.

My brothers and sisters that survive your sick war for oil profits will come home mad as hell too. Some of them have been "made into men (and women)" in your trial by fire and will return ready to take their country back by means complementary to my own. I think you sick bastards had better look at passing some gun laws before the largest trained, hardened and disenfranchised generation ever comes home. You misogynist, racist, anti-science cretins have created your own worst nightmare, a whole generation of us who "have your number" and will have the means to clean house faster than you can evacuate it.

We will find a way to take our country back and put those "sacred freedoms" you like to spout about and that "blessed constitution" you like to hide behind back in place and there will be very, very, very little room for the kind of greedy, corrupt, dishonest behavior you thrive on.

These ideals are real and cannot be mangled to your purposes forever.

"We hold these truths to be self-evident". Go look up "self-evident" in the dictionary...

Any "Young Republicans" in the audience want to stick up for these lying sacks of shit, for this misguided concept of patriotism, for this dead-end crash-course they have put us on?

I love my country, I love truth, I love science, but I don't love what this nation and now this laboratory are becoming. It is up to us to make things right again.

Doctor Strangelove, Doug Roberts, Pat the Dog, Brad Holian, and Pinky and THE Brain are my heroes.

Doc Strange's post using the image of Calvin Peeing (as above) inspired me to "mask up" as Masked Calvin and do a little blogging of my own.

I'm hoping some of my peers will speak up. We've been hearing from old-school who feel pushed out or disrespected, but a lot of us are young and are at LANL for a reason, and it isn't because we have no other offers. We are here because we want to do the work we can do best here, with the people that are here (for the moment).

I for one, want LANL to succeed. I want the people trying to bring LANL down to fail. There are many suspects, from the Hawks (the current administration, the Nuclear Navy, god knows who else) to the Doves (Liberals who dislike/fear big science and especially nuclear weapons).

I came here to do my life's work, my research. I believe there is a lot I can do to make the world a better place and that LANL could be the very best place to do it. I'm fed up with the whining I hear and the wing-nuts (Doug's term) who just want to see us torn down.

I'm pissed and you should be too! I want to hear from the rest of students, PostDocs, and early-career staff who want to see some change and are ready to stand up to make it happen.
